THE SANDS INSTITUTE
....is primarily educational in nature, doing research, publishing papers and books, conducting seminars
and symposia, in attempting to re-energize ordinary citizens in a more civic understanding of the
underlying principles of the Constitution and how it applies to their daily lives, and reciprocally, how
they conduct their daily lives applies to the health and well-being of the U S Constitution.
This organization is dedicated to the simple principles:
That the greatest desire of Man is to be able to build, own and pass on his House and to be able to
create reciprocal relationships with his neighbor(s) in order to protect each other’s right to do so;
That this desire is a major element of human liberty;
That the fundamental building blocks of the House can be quantified;
That to facilitate and protect this common desire among men the US Constitution was drafted and
enacted, thereby creating an unbreakable bond between the Common man and woman, the
Constitution and those who are sworn to protect and defend it;
That, from its inception, there are and always have been ideologies and persons antagonistic to the
precepts of the House, individual human liberty, and the Constitution;
That, within the past several years, those antagonists have been able to insinuate themselves into the
fabric of American cultural, economic and political life, thus standing between the Common man and
the fundamental blueprints of his House,
That they have been able to place tolls, guards and even locks on doors the Constitution
declares shall be kept open for the use of citizens, when and where and how they wish.
It is the belief of this Institute that the rescue of this relationship between the Common man and the
US Constitution is necessary if the ideal of America and American Exceptionalism is to survive another
generation, and that rescue is as much cultural as it is political.
The joint purposes of this Institute will be to
a) help re-educate the Common man and woman in being able to understand the basic foundations of
their House, the enemies to that House, how to identify them, and both expel those that are already
inside the House, and bar those who are not;
b) educate protectors of the US Constitution in the arts of defending it in the common culture, as well
as re-establishing that handshake between poor, working and middle classes that are key to the
Constitution’s protection and survival.
